MAGNIFICENT CAPTIVA
Since its launch in 2006, the Captiva has won over many fans from around the world with its athletic exterior design. That fan base is certain to widen with the launch of the even more efficient new-release Captiva.
Now boasting a dynamic new front design with a re-structured hood and a host of new refinements and enhancements in design details, the new stance of the Captiva is a preface to even better performance and fuel efficiency with a new 2.4L ECOTEC engine that’s been tuned for more dynamic and responsive driving.
TALL, HANDSOME, RUGGED.
The Captiva stands at a height of 1727mm, offering you a commanding view of the road around you.
With a dynamic new front design, it makes strong visual impact on the road. Tall, handsome and in a choice of seven great colours.
SPACE CONTROL
Climb aboard the new Captiva and driver and passengers will still be welcomed by an airy and spacious interior with thoughtful storage space that is among best in class – and with the option of either 5 or 7 seats.
Designers have also put to good use some of the elements featured on other new Chevrolet models, such as the ice-blue back lighting and the ‘wrap-round’ design of the front fascia which flows into the front driver’s and passenger doors creating the now distinctive dual cockpit look of modern Chevrolet models.
STRONGER, BETTER, BOLDER
Powering the new Captiva is a new ECOTEC 2.4L dual overhead cam engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) delivering a top speed of 181 km/h and reaching 100 km/h in 10.8s.
Despite its size, fuel effi ciency has been achieved at 9.2 L/100km (combined) – thanks partly to a smooth 6-speed Automatic Transmission.
The chassis has also been tuned to further enhance vehicle dynamics, improving road-holding around bends, roll characteristics and ride feedback.
To ensure a safer ride, the new Captiva comes with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS) and Braking Assist System (BAS) as standard. Also standard are side, front, and curtain airbags.
SAFER JOURNEYS
The Captiva offers the assurance of a safer journey for driver and passengers. Three-point seat belts with belt tensioners and belt force limiters look after those in the front seats, while ISOFIX anchor points are fitted to the outer seats of the second row, to facilitate the quick and secure fitting of child seats.
Keeping you reassured on the road is also a priority.
Good to know, then, that a Traction Control System is keeping you planted, that Electronic Stability Control is eliminating over and under-steer, and that a Brake Assist System is ready and waiting to reduce braking distances in the event of an emergency.
All these safety features come as standard.
Another smart safety first for the Captiva is Hill Start Assist which helps to prevent the “roll back” on hill starts.
Driving down-hill is easier to thanks to our Descent Control System. It’s a technology that automatically slows the vehicle on steep gradients, which means you don’t have to keep such a heavy foot on the brake pedal.
