CHEVROLET SWEEPS FIVE AWARDS FOR “CAR OF THE YEAR”
Bangkok – Chevrolet made history by taking home a grand total of five ‘Car of the Year’ awards this year by the Colorado, Captiva and Cruze, reflecting the Chevrolet’s vision ‘To Design, Build and Sell the World’s Best Vehicles’.

Chevrolet Sales Thailand (Chevrolet) proved its success once again in developing the world’s best vehicles when the Chevrolet Captiva, Colorado, and Cruze set a record by winning five ‘Car of the Year’ awards.
- The 2.5L and 2.8L Duramax Chevy Colorado both won an award
- The E85-capable 2.4L gasoline engine Chevrolet Captiva won ‘Best SUV’ award
- Chevrolet Cruze outclassed its competition by winning Car of Year Awards for ‘Best Sedan under 1,800cc’ and ‘Best Diesel Sedan’ for 2.0-liter turbo-diesel.
Entries were judged by 60 experts and automotive thought-leaders, invited by GrandPrix International. The judges’ decisions were based on aspects including design, comfort, safety, fuel-efficiency, handling, performance, environmentally friendliness, customer satisfaction and value.
The Chevrolet Cruze won its second consecutive ‘Best Sedan under 1,800cc’ award. The 2.0-liter turbo-diesel Cruze won ‘Best Diesel Sedan’ award, proving the competitiveness of the Chevrolet’s world class compact sedan, which comes with excellence performance, equipment, and facilities such as Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS), auto headlamps, auto rain sensor, all in accordance with the highest safety standards. The Cruze really is “Protective and responsive to make all journeys safe”.
In addition, the E85-capable 2.4L Chevrolet Captiva with a gasoline engine won ‘Best SUV’ award, emphasizing its versatility, luxury, design and handling which have been receiving a continuous positive feedback from customers, hailing it as the Best-selling SUV last year.
Chevrolet Colorado, the real American tough truck also won two awards; the 2.5L 2WD X-Cab Colorado won ‘Best 2-wheel-drive Pick-up truck under 2500cc’ and the 2.8L WD X-Cab Z71 won ‘Best Pick-up truck under 3200cc’.
